We have a traditional modern single storey scout hut with heat light toilets a kitchen and a floor.There is one big hall and a small office.When groups use it we can divide part off with a screen if necessary.We have just had it all done up and it looks very nice.
there are full cooking facilities and there is central heating.
We are getting regular requests from out of the area to use the hut as a base for the Brecon Beacons walks
we are slap bang in the centre of hirwaun so convenient for buses trains shops pubs etc.
the hut is completely disabled friendly
You can walk from the hut across to the old mineral line path and then up into the Brecon Beacons(or you can take the bus there).
Not only can you arrange to sleep on our floor but we can offer advice on stunning walks and other activities.
We are in Walking distance of some of the most scenic waterfalls walks in the country with Fabulous hill walks and caving opportunities thrown in.
Hopefully we will be getting our annex converted into a bunk room with showers and a wood burning stove as soon as we can get the funding in place.

to find us (Hirwaun isnt that big) travel on the Heads of the Valleys Road to "the HIrwaun Roundabout" left to Aberdare right into Hirwaun straight on for Neath/Swansea. Go right then down Brecon Rd for about a mile.Lamb inn on Your left Newsagents on your right .Turn right after the Newsagents.Go through the village centre.The road starts to go downhill Row of terrace houses on the right .Estate on the left.50 yards down the hill gap in the terrace .Go in there were behind the houses.
If you reach the Glancynon Pub you went to far but you can always go in and ask for directions .
The outside of the hut was designed by the same people who designed Fort Apache but its quite homely inside. Depends on your idea of home though
