All our avid readers will note that not much has changed.
No writs have arrived nor have we been mysteriously closed down. The truth of it is that we are having difficulty in updating the site and may have to move it in due course.
If the above paragraph survives the uploading we'll try some more
(5 minutes later )-well that seemed to have worked for once.No complaints please about the typing as the editor is typing furiously before getting kicked out again.
After a quiet start we all met at the country park in March to do some tree planting to commemorate 100 years of Scouting.
Many thanks to the Country Park staff for letting use a quiet corner.
Parents beavers(some smaller than the trees)cubs and scouts arrived armed with shovels for the tree planting and after a short delay while everyone within a three mile radius was crb'd dna'd fingerprinted and voice recognised and a suspicious looking labrador was asked to leave the area we were off into the undergrowth and back and off in the right direction where a selection of native trees were planted by various membersof the group.Well done to everyone who tok part .Some of the cubs got a bit edgy being that far from electricity and computer games but fair play they survived what must have been the longest hour of their lives.
After that the scouts were straight up to the churchyard at St Cynogs for some altogether more challenging ground clearance. Last year we had cleared the last of the head height brambles from the front of the church. This year they were back(but not for long)
Akela has been lucky enough to negotiate a grant for a new mess tent which we hope to have up and running
The Older Scouts have recently spent the weekend on the Beacons on a hike camp .
Weather better than usual for a scout activity, although it was cold that night.

The centenary of Scouting continues apace celebrating the first year of Scouting from August 2007 to August 2008.
